About Aharon Elkayam, M.S.
My interest in health began more than twenty years ago with a simple idea: the body functions best when it is in balance.
I trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, studying acupuncture and herbal medicine in California, where I received a license to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine, granted by the California Medical Board.
With a strong desire to learn more about Chinese medicine, I moved to Asia and began learning Mandarin so I could learn with masters there. Within the course of the next five years, I completed clinical internships in Taipei, Shanghai, and Beijing.
Many of my mentors were Western-trained physicians who practiced Chinese medicine, and they taught me to understand traditional therapies through modern medical and physiological principles.
After returning to the U.S., I established clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area and in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
Over the course of my career I have worked with hundreds of patients across thousands of visits, helping people address issues such as digestive problems, sleep, mood, metabolism, and chronic pain.
Today my work focuses on helping people restore health through evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle changes, using practical strategies that address the root causes of chronic conditions.
