About Aharon
I've spent over a decade in clinical practice — as an acupuncturist, herbalist, and functional medicine practitioner — and years before that completing clinical internships in the U.S. and Asia.
Everything I learned along the way pointed to the same conclusion: for nearly everyone dealing with weight gain, low energy, and poor metabolic health, the answer is diet.
That's what my work is focused on now.
My background
I trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and completed clinical internships in Taipei, Shanghai, and Beijing — working in Chinese hospitals, often as the only non-Chinese practitioner in the clinic. I learned Mandarin to train with masters there.
Most of my mentors — both in China and in the U.S. — were trained in Western medicine as well as Chinese medicine.
That meant everything I learned had a real scientific explanation behind it. No mysticism, no energy talk — just traditional therapies that happen to work, and a growing body of research explaining why.
After returning to the U.S., I began building my practice while training in functional medicine — learning to read and interpret labs in a way that became central to how I work with clients.
I first ran a clinic in the Washington DC area, and later a larger clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area, treating hundreds of patients across thousands of visits — specializing in digestion, thyroid, sleep, skin, and chronic pain.
My own experience
In my 40s I was carrying an extra 25 pounds — while running a health practice. I was doing what I thought was right. It wasn't working.
For years I used a low-carb approach — with my patients and myself. The science sounded convincing.
But the results were modest, and only came with heavy restriction. Nobody could sustain that long term.
What turned it around was stepping back and reading the evidence more carefully. I shifted to a whole-foods, plant-based approach and the weight came off without restriction. The energy came back.
That's what led me to rebuild my practice around this way of eating.
My approach
The foundation of what I recommend is a whole-foods, plant-based way of eating.
The research on this is solid. For men dealing with weight gain, low energy, rising blood sugar, or high blood pressure, this approach works — consistently.
I’ve seen it in the studies, and it’s what the evidence has been pointing to for decades.
We don’t take a vague or open-ended approach. You’ll transition into this way of eating over your first week, and by week two, you’ll be fully following it.
This structure is important. It’s what allows your body to respond quickly — with improvements in weight, energy, and metabolic health.
You won’t be left guessing what to do. I’ll guide you step-by-step so the transition is clear, practical, and doable.
What I do
Most of my clients are busy professionals who want to lose weight, get their energy back, and improve their numbers without turning their lives upside down.
Some have tried everything. Others are just getting started. Either way, they need clear direction and someone with real clinical experience to guide them through it.
An invitation
If any of this sounds familiar, I'd be glad to talk.
The first call is free — a straightforward conversation about where you are, what you've already tried, and whether this approach makes sense for you.
